Hi!! I am Emily Schmidt, Lifelong babysitter and Mama to two sparkly, magical girlies, who have a major enthusiasm for soaking up all the wonders this world has to offer.
My background in Health Education and Promotion and time working for the Y, maintaining and developing the Discover Health program (that brought health education to elementary schools in the Tri-State in a fun and interactive way), left me wanting to think outside of the box when it came to encouraging development…and entertaining our children as well as those in my care, and I have loved creating and inspiring play through the years.
The Nest-play for littles is the fullest expression of that passion, joy, creativity and fun.
The Nest provides the time, space and materials to highlight core aspects of play through:
-crafting
-sharing books and songs our family loves or has newly discovered
-an exploration of textures, colors, sounds and sights.
Nest playdates are 45 minutes (30 of active play and 15 for settling in and saying goodbye), with 3-4 intentionally curated activities for littles on the go!…crawling and sturdy sitters through preschool age.
The best part is, that The Nest does allll the cleanup, no matter how messy!
